P/40:Points Per 40 Minutes.

P/40, or Points per 40 Minutes, is a basketball statistic that represents the estimated number of points a player would score if they played a full 40 minutes of a game. It’s a per-minute statistic used to standardize a player’s scoring output, allowing for fairer comparisons between players who play different amounts of time.

To calculate P/40:

  1. Start with the player’s total points scored.
  2. Divide that number by the player’s total minutes played. This gives you points per minute.
  3. Multiply the points per minute by 40. This results in the estimated points per 40 minutes.

For example, if a player scores 20 points in 20 minutes, their P/40 would be calculated as: (20 points / 20 minutes) * 40 minutes = 40 points.
