PICK AND ROLL

The pick-and-roll is a fundamental, highly effective basketball offensive play where a player sets a screen („pick“) on the ball handler’s defender and then moves toward the basket („rolls“) to receive a pass. It forces defenders to choose between switching, hedging, or dropping, creating open shots, driving lanes, or easy baskets for the offense.
